Stonewool Range - Insulfelt

INSULFELT

Description

Resin bonded Stonewool blanket supplied in rolls. Available plain or faced with reinforced kraft/aluminium foil, tissue or woven glass cloth.

Application

Thermal insulation of ducts, vessels, boilers, ovens and in dry wall applications.

Operating Temperature

Can be used at continuous operating temperatures of up to 850°C. Faced felt - limiting temperature of outer facing is 50°C

Fire Performance

Non-combustible - Tested to SABS 0177 Part V.
Class I Fire Index - Tested to SABS 0177 Part 111.

Biosolubility

The IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer), part of the world health organisation, has classified Stonewool as a group 3 product - not classifiable as to carcinogenicity to humans. The fibres from Stonewool products are bio-soluble and will dissolve in lung fluid and pass through the body naturally.

Permanence

Rot-proof, odourless, does not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria. Will not settle under vibration and is dimensionally stable under varying conditions of temperature and humidity.

Acoustic Performance

Will provide effective acoustical insulation where there is a need to reduce noise levels or to absorb sound. Actual performance varies with thickness and density.

Chloride Content

Contains inherently low levels of water-leachable chlorides, typically less than 5 ppm and thus will neither cause nor promote corrosion.

Thermal Conductivity

See appropriate nomograph.
